West Cork - Home to the WCCC
 |
West Cork Cycling Club - a cycling club based in West Cork (obviously). Some of the finest cycling routes in the country are on our doorstep. We get to cycle the rolling roads of the Rebel County, with the occasional spin over the border into the Kingdom. The rugged West Cork coastline is our playground. Almost one fifth of the Wild Atlantic Way is in our back yard. When we go inland, we ride through the Gearagh, Keimeneigh, Beal na mBlath and Gougane Barra. Our spins take us through stunning scenery in Beara and the Borlin Valley, past Lough Hyne and out to Sheep's Head. We stop for coffee in towns and villages like Kinsale, Bantry, Clonakilty, Kenmare, Glengarriff and Schull. It goes on and on. In one spin we can go from the southernmost point of the country (Mizen) to the highest pub in Ireland (Top of Coom). In a few hours we can do the cool (Caha Pass tunnels), the awesome (Allihies to Eyeries), and the downright diabolical (Priest's Leap).
We roll out every Sunday morning, from Dunmanway and Drimoleague at the centre of West Cork. Come on out with us. We are always looking for new members. Join us. If you think you're not ready for faster speeds and hills, we have introductory spins for new members from time to time. So quit putting it off and get on your bike!
